Introduction: Madinat Makadi Golf Course
Golfing at Madinat Makadi Golf Course, Makadi Bay, is guaranteed to be a rewarding experience with the stunning views of the Red Sea, mountains, beautiful landscapes, and year-round sunshine.
Designed by John Sanford of Sanford Golf Design the 18 hole, par 72 Madinat Makadi Championship Golf Course extends over 7,500 yards, making it one of the longest in the region. The course is surrounded by lagoons, three salt water lakes and stunning scenery.
With five of the 18 holes overlooking the Red Sea and three with a view of the lakes, the Makadi Bay golf course is a perfect retreat for golf lovers. There is also a 9 hole, par 3 short course.
As well as a great golf holiday destination,
Makadi Bay offers a multitude of other sporting, recreation and entertainment facilities.
Each hotel has its own swimming pool with plenty of areas to relax and soak up the Red Sea Sun or cool off after a round of golf. And near the hotels, Souk Makadi offers a variety of shops, restaurants, a spa, a disco and other entertainment venues.
When you've had your fill of the greens, turn your attention underwater with the on-site dive school, Extra Divers, offering recreational diving for qualified divers. Windsurfing, sailing, waterskiing and squash are also all available nearby.
Children have not been forgotten with a choice of children's clubs offering entertainment programmes catering to children of all ages.

Golf Clubhouse
In the extended clubhouse complex, enjoy a coffee break or sip on a cool refreshing drink at the outdoor pub, followed by a dip in the pool which is only a couple of steps away. There is also an a la carte restaurant offering breathtaking views of both the golf course and the beach. For special occasions and large events, a private function room is available upon request.
Additionally, a fully stocked Pro Shop is available offering a wide range of golf accessories. Other services include daily rental sets, club cars, trolleys or a caddy.
Club Rules
Dress code
- No beach clothes on the golf courses
- Light sporting summer clothes are allowed
- Soft spikes only on the courses
- Suitable dress code is required on the golf course.
Golf Course Regulations
- Players are to respect international golf-etiquette and local rules and regulations
- If etiquette, local rules and regulations are flouted players can be banned from the golf course.
- Maximum handicap allowance is 36
- Tee times must be requested and confirmed in advance especially in winter season (1 October until 30 March each year)
- Golfers may be requested to pair into 2, 3 or 4 ball
- Single players have no priority and no playing right at all
- Smokers have to carry an ashtray with them
- No golf carts on Par 3 holes, on tees or near to the greens
- Children & juniors up to age 18 cannot drive golf cars
- Repair pitch marks and lay back divots is a must
- Playing with driving range balls on the golf course is not allowed
- Green fee & rental fees have to be paid before playing (valid bag tags have to be presented at control on the course)
- Mobile telephones should not be used on the golf course.
Location & Getting There
Situated on Safaga Road just 30 km away from Hurghada International Airport. A free shuttle bus service is available from all the hotels in Madinat Makadi.
