It is a place where you can experience a lot in a short time, from haggling with craft sellers in the medina, to tasting a local tagine in a top quality restaurant, to exploring the town in a horse-drawn caleche, to simply soaking up the atmosphere and watching the action in the Djemma el Fna, the city's main square. It is an ideal city break destination, and the ideal place to sart your Moroccan adventure.
Morocco's most popular summer holiday destination, Agadir is known for its wonderful sandy beaches, which are some of the largest and cleanest in the region, making it a great favourite for families and watersports enthusiasts. As well as a tourist resort, it is also a thriving town with bazaars, shops, cafes and restaurants - allowing you to enjoy a taste of traditional culture on your beach holiday. Perfect if you have already experienced the Red Sea and are looking for something a little different this year.
For a quintessentially Moroccan holiday, visit Essaouira, a beach resort with traditional fishing port, a souk filled with winding whitewashed alleyways and numerous fresh seafood restaurants. Essaouira is ideal as the second half of a twin centre with Marrakech, the relaxing yet authentic atmosphere providing the perfect ambience for relaxation after the noise and colour of Morocco's most famous destination.
