The friendly team at Extra Divers Makadi Bay offers a highly professional service that makes the most of the many beautiful dive sites located between Hurghada and Safaga.

Ideally located on the beach by the Madinat Makadi marina, the dive centre offers a unique house reef with small wrecks - ideal for photography and night diving. Extra Divers operate a fleet of 6 boats offering day and half day diving excursions.

Location

In the middle of the bay, on the beach, by the marina at Madinat Makadi.

Dive centre transfers

Guests will be collected from and returned to their hotels by Extra Divers' complimentary shuttle bus. Pick ups are not usually made from the Iberotel Makadi Beach or Sol Y Mar Club unless special arrangements are made for first and last day equipment transfers.

Boat diving

Single dive short trips, half and full day trips with two boat dives.

Shore diving

On the house reef.

House reef

Yes, a house reef with small wrecks is available.

Diving day

Single dive short trips departing at 9am, 9.30am, 1.45pm and 2.15pm.
Half day trips with two boat dives departing 8.20am & 1.20pm in the summer and 8.20am in the winter.

Local rules & etiquette

- Maximum depth limit is 30 metres for recreational scuba divers.

- All divers are required to make a check out dive on the first day which is free of charge.

- At least 25 logged dives are required for some sites.
- Any diver with less than 25 logged dives must dive with a guide (free of charge).

- Divers with more than 25 logged dives are welcome to dive in buddy pairs without a guide.

- Divers with more than 25 logged dives wishing to dive with a guide will pay €3 extra per dive.

Nitrox 32 free for EAN qualified divers.

Yes. SSI TXR up to entry Trimix level.

Lunch

A hot buffet-style lunch will be served on all full day boat trips at a cost of 25LE; soft drinks will be charged
at 5LE, both payable on board.

Non-Divers

A passenger/snorkeller is welcome on board day boats at a cost of €23 per day.
