1 Day Petra by plane from Tel Aviv
Beyond the towering mountains and rock formations of Wadi Rum, which mesmerised Lawrence of Arabia, lies the Siq Canyon, where a short walk along a narrow winding passageway leads to the magnificent Rose Red City of Petra.
No site in Jordan captures the imagination as dramatically as the breathtaking Nabataean structures carved into the brilliantly coloured rocks which rise toward the skies in continually changing shades of red, orange and pink. Fly from Tel Aviv, Sde Dov Airport to Eilat and transfer to the Israel/Jordan Border and begin your Jordanian adventure travelling along the Kings Highway to Petra, passing Wadi Rum.
In Petra visit the Treasury and Amphitheatre whilst wandering around the ancient rock tombs and burial places, hearing the amazing story from your Jordanian guide before returning through the canyon for a buffet lunch (included).
After lunch drive to the Aqaba border and then to Eilat for your return flight to Tel Aviv. |

Nazareth, Capernaum, Sea of Galilee & Tiberias
Drive to the ancient town of Nazareth, described in the New Testament as the childhood home of Jesus, and a visit to the Church of Annunciation, which is believed to be the place where Mary received the word of God.
The tour continues on to Tabgha and Capernaum, where the apostles Peter, Andrew, John and James are said to have lived, and in whose synagogue Jesus taught on the Sabbath days. You will continue onto the Sea of Galilee, visiting Tiberias and Yardenit, on the Jordan River. It is believed that it was here that John the Baptist baptised Jesus, and today many Christian pilgrims stop here to perform baptism ceremonies. |
