Airport Security Guidance
|
| Please be advised that for your own safety you may be required to undergo extensive personal and baggage security checks at airports. These procedures are designed to ensure the wellbeing of all passengers and may require an early check in. Cabin Baggage Restrictions Please note that each passenger is restricted to carrying only 1 item of cabin baggage through airport security, with a maximum size of 56cm x 45cm x 25cm. Other bags (such as handbags) may be carried within the single item of cabin baggage. New rules for taking liquids through airport security Passengers can now take through airport security liquids such as toiletries including perfume, toothpaste, deodorant, shaving foam and lip gloss, provided they are no bigger than 100ml each. All individual liquid items must fit comfortably into one transparent, resealable bag no larger than 1 litre of approximately 20cm x 20cm (about the size of a small freezer bag). The bag must fit into the one permitted piece of cabin baggage (a maximum of 56cm x 45cm x 25cm), but passengers will be asked to present the bag separately when going thorugh airport security. Liquids of any amount can still be carried in luggage checked into the aircraft hold. We recommend that before travelling you read the regulations in full at www.dft.gov.uk/airportsecurity |
