10 August 2009Destination specialists Longwood Holidays have launched their new season 2009-2010 Egypt, Jordan, Morocco & Israel brochure – featuring for the first time the Moroccan seaside town of Essaouira.
“This brochure reaffirms our position as specialists to North Africa and the Middle East” said Alan Meadows, Longwood Holidays Agency Sales Manager. “Essaouira is a tiny but lovely seaside town combining a beach, fishing port and traditional souk making it a great place to visit for a short break. A lot of people also like to twin Essaouira with a stay in the vibrant city of Marrakech. As well as bolstering our Moroccan programme we’ve also extended our upmarket Egypt and Jordan programmes by introducing 11 new hotels in total, plus we’ve introduced the 5* deluxe Sonesta Nile Goddess Nile Cruise.”
The operator’s expanded Jordan programme includes 2 new 5* properties in the Red Sea resort of Aqaba – the Kempinski Hotel and Movenpick Resort located in the exclusive Tala Bay area.
“Aqaba is a really beginning to develop as a resort, particularly the Tala Bay area which is one of the most exciting developments on the Red Sea” said Meadows. “The resort is currently home to a private marina with plans for over 75 shopping outlets as well as a fantastic range of restaurants, cafes and bars – it will truly be a unique Red Sea experience.”
Also new to the brochure is a health and beauty section highlighting some of the many top quality spa facilities available in the operator’s four featured destinations including both the Israeli and Jordanian side of the Dead Sea and Morocco, famous for its hammams.
“Spa breaks are becoming more and more popular and the Middle East and North Africa are home to some of the best in the world” said Meadows. “Many people probably don’t realise the sheer quantity and quality that is available in this region, so it seemed logical for us to highlight a selection of what is actually available.”

Following the successful formula of last year, this brochure features an even bigger selection of the operator’s Israel programme including multi-centre itineraries, the luxurious Carmel Forest Spa Resort and the Dead Sea.
“It’s important to us that agents are able to see all what we offer in a single brochure” commented Meadows. “We’ve recently seen an increase in enquiries for Israel, particularly for places outside the traditionally popular areas of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. By expanding our Israel selection we want to show a wider audience that we can offer more in Israel including the increasingly popular Dead Sea and the option to create your own itinerary.”
