North Africa & Middle East specialist Longwood Holidays has seen accommodation only trade sales soar since the launch of their accommodation only programme in April 2007. Longwood has reported significant growth across the whole programme, with sales doubling over the last nine months. Sales for hotel nights in Egypt and Jordan have done particularly well, especially in classical destinations such as Luxor, Petra and
Alexandria.
“We’ve tried to tailor our product to suit the needs of our agents” said Alan Meadows, Longwood Holidays Agency Sales Manager. “Feedback from agents has indicated that they’re looking to sell accommodation only at leading hotels without losing out on the usual reassurances that come from booking a package. We’re able to offer agents very good rates at big name hotels whilst still paying our usual high rates of commission for accommodation only sales.”
“We differentiate ourselves from other operators because we’re true destination specialists and only sell the upper end of the market. It’s important to us that our agents feel confident when booking with us which is why we act as the principal for all our accommodation only bookings and conduct stringent health & safety and quality checks on all our hotels. Longwood Holidays offer accommodation only in Jordan, Morocco, Israel, Classical Egypt and a number of Red Sea resorts.
“We’re often selling out our flights several months in advance so accommodation only has become a real focus for us this year” commented Meadows. “We’ve tried to diversify our product in order to fit in with the changing market place by not only focusing on accommodation only but tailor-made and multi-centre holidays also.”
