***Longwood Holidays Support Sharm el Sheikh with Donation Incentive***

Red Sea specialists Longwood Holidays have donated $1000 to the Sharm Relief Fund and have committed to donating a further $5 for every trade booking made for holidays departing in August and September.

The Relief Fund has been set up in the wake of the blasts that shook Sharm el Sheikh in late July. Over sixty Egyptians, many local merchants, were amongst the fatalities, while many more suffered serious injuries. The compensation available to these victims is not substantial. Like much of the local community, many of those affected are dependent on the tourism industry.

“It’s important to us as an operator that we support destinations through adverse situations such as this, especially destinations like Egypt, where tourism plays such a crucial part in the local and national economy.” commented Rafi Caplin, Longwood Holidays MD. “We hope that our contribution will help put something back into the community whose warm hospitality we have enjoyed for years as travellers and as business partners.”

The Relief Fund first came to Longwood Holidays’ attention when Sharm el Sheikh Resort Manager Carrie Nightingale implemented a scheme which raised $300 over the week following the incidents from holidaymakers returning home from the resort. The London head office then followed this up with the $1000 pledge and announcement of the donation incentive.
